Types of envelopes to avoid

Do not use envelopes which:

are damaged, curled, wrinkled, or an usual shape

are extremely shiny or textured

have clasps, snaps or tie strings

have self-adhesive components

are of a baggy construction

are not sharply creased

are embossed (have raised writing on them)

have been previously printed on by a laser printer

are pre-printed on the inside

cannot be arranged when put in a pile

are made of paper that weighs more than the paper weight specifications for the printer

have been badly made, with edges that are not straight or consistently square

have windows, holes, cutouts or perforations

Before you print envelopes, you must fan the stack to avoid paper jams and misfeeds.

Do not put different types of paper in the paper tray at the same time because it may cause paper

jams or misfeeds.

Do not print envelopes using duplex printing.

For proper printing, you must choose the same paper size from your software application as the
paper in the tray.
