End-mount self-aligning bearing
support assembly (with spider)
Support assembly mounts to the end
of the work piece through a slotted
spider. Bar is held in place by a
self-aligning bearing. Center the bar
with the four adjusting screws. Two
bearing assemblies are required to
adequately support the bar. Support
assemblies may be different styles.
Special spiders are available upon
request.

Assembly mounts to either end of
the bar. Manual feed is adjustable
and reversible with a feed rate of
.003" to .025" (.076 to .635 mm) per
revolution. Includes incremental dial
for positioning.
23393 Mechanical axial feed assembly
- 8" diameter boring bar
Assembly mounts to either end of the
bar. Manual feed is adjustable and
reversible with a feed rate of .003" to
.040" (.076 to 1.016 mm) per revolu-
tion. Includes incremental dial for
positioning.
17299 Rotational drive assembly
Mounts anywhere along the bar.
Locking rings hold the assembly
securely to the bar. Includes torque
arms for stability. Fits both 6" and 8"
diameter bars. 6" bars require rota-
tional drive collet (P/N 17300). Uses
one or two hydraulic drive motors.
Cooling fans require 120V AC 50 or
60 Hz power.

Hydraulic drive motors
Reversible motors with SAE 2-bolt
mounting flange to mount to the rota-
tional drive housing. Motor ports are
7/8-14 SAE O-ring type.
Fittings are
included with the hydraulic power
unit. Bar rpm's are maximum at 20
gpm. (For 50 Hz power units, reduce
the bar rpm by 15%; torque at the bar
remains the same.) Torque ratings (at
the bar) are constant.

Adapter allows 6" (152.4 mm) diam-
eter boring bars to use 8" (203.2 mm)
diameter spider and bearing support
assemblies.
Tool carrier
Split-design tool carrier mounts
anywhere along the boring bar. Car-
rier has built-in wipers to protect the
bar and carrier from dirt and chips.
Boring and facing heads mount to
the tool carrier with screws and, if
required, spacers. Carrier includes
brass nut and drive key.

Manual boring head assembly
Boring head mounts to either a 6"
or 8" tool carrier. Can bore 16" to
80" (406.4 to 2032.0 mm) diameters.
Assembly includes 1" (25.4 mm), 2"
(50.8 mm), 5" (127.0 mm), and 10"
(254.0 mm) spacers. Use the spacers
to set the desired boring diameter
range. Features micro-adjustable
tools for fine adjustments. Two tool
holders permit heavy boring. Holders
accept carbide inserts and chip
breakers.
This assembly requires
either 6" or 8" tool carrier (P/N
18535 or 18537).

(P/N 23550). 6" diameter bars
require adapter sleeve (P/N 17436).
ID-mount non self-aligning bearing
support assembly (with spider)
Bar is held in non self-aligning
bearing with a taper locking adapter.
Center the bar by adjusting the four
jaws on the support spider. Jaws can
be adjusted from outside the bore.
