Article 800 - Communications
Circuits
I. GENERAL
800.1 Scope. This article covers telephone, telegraph
(except radio), outside wiring for fire alarm and burglar
alarm, and similar central station systems; and telephone
systems not connected to a central station system but
using similar types of equipment, methods of installa-
tion, and maintenance.

800.2 Definitions
…Abandoned Communications Cable. Installed
communications cable that is not terminated at both
ends at a connector or other equipment and not identi-
fied for future use with a tag.
…Exposed. A circuit that is in such a position that, in
case of failure of supports and insulation, contact with
another circuit may result.
