INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR E-LOC COUPLINGS
1.
Check and make sure sizing of fitting is same as the conduit/innerduct
being installed. E-LOC® couplings are based on standard IPS nominal
outside diameters.
2.
Wipe spigot end of conduit/innerduct clean. Make sure it is clean of burrs,
dirt, or foreign material.
3.
The spigot end of the conduit/innerduct can be lubricated with water or
water with a small amount of liquid dishwashing soap. (Do not use motor
oil or thread lubricants commonly used for metal pipe threads. This
includes W-D 40 “type” lubricant.)
4.
On smaller diameter conduit/innerduct, position fitting on the duct – place
a board across the end and hit with a small mallet or hammer. (Do not hit
the fitting directly with the hammer.) On larger diameter conduit, clean
and lubricate spigot as above. Put a 3” mark on spigots of 4” and larger
conduit/innerduct to make sure the fitting is “home”. Use a bar and block
to push the joint. If a hammer and block of wood are used, make sure
wood is in contact with both sides of the fitting and hit block center. (Do
not hit the fitting directly with the hammer.) Check to be sure that the
fitting is all the way “home” onto the conduit/innerduct.

5.
When joining conduit/innerduct off a reel, install E-LOC® coupling on the
plain end coming from the reel using steps #1 through #4 above. After the
coupling is installed properly, clean the spigot of the other
conduit/innerduct and push onto spigot end of the conduit/innerduct. If
necessary, place a small board on the edge of the coupling toward the
reel and drive the coupling onto the conduit/innerduct. (Do not hit the
fitting directly with the hammer.)
