Symbols Used in this Guide

When you are programming using SIS, certain characters are most conveniently
represented by the hexadecimal equivalent of their ASCII value. The table below shows the
hexadecimal equivalent of each ASCII command:

The symbols (X/ values) defined in this section are the variables used in the fields of the

Command/Response Table

that begins on the next page.

= carriage return with line feed

}

= carriage return (no line feed)

= space character

E

= Escape key (W or hex 1B)

= On or Off status

0 = Off

1 = On

X^

= Input rate status

0 = No input

1 = 270 Mbps

2 = 1.485 Gbps

3 = 2.97 Gbps

4 = Rate unknown

X2!

= SM (singlemode) or MM (multimode)

X2@

= Tx (transmitter), Rx (receiver), or Tr (transceiver), depending on the mode

X2%

= DIP switch position

0 = Off; 1 = On

00 = Switch 1 off, switch 2 off (bidirectional transceiver)

01 = Switch 1 off, switch 2 on (transmitter with local monitor outputs)

10 = Switch 1 on, switch 2 off (receiver with daisy chaining)

11 = Switch 1 on, switch 2 on (spare — functions as receiver with daisy chaining)

Error Messages

E10 — Invalid command
E13 — Invalid parameter
E14 — Not valid for this configuration
