Nextel Voice Mail
Pager Notification
The Voice Mail service has the ability to notify your pager when you have
received a message. If you would like to activate this feature, you must
enable pager notification. Please call Nextel Customer Care at
1-800-639-6111 to activate this feature, or dial 611 from your Nextel phone.
Enabling Pager Notification
This feature allows you to enable or disable your pager notification and
confirm the pager number to which your messages are being sent.
1. Log into Voice Mail. See “Accessing the Voice Mail Service After Set

to reach the Personal Options Menu.
3. Press
to reach the Pager Notification options.
• Press
to enable/disable pager notification.
• Press
to enable/disable notification on urgent messages only.
• Press
to play your pager number.
Limiting Notification to Specific Times
You can choose certain times of the day to be notified of new messages. For
example, you could select to be notified between 8:00am and 5:00pm only.
In this example, if someone sends you a message at 5:15pm, you will not be
notified of that new message until the next day at 8:00am. If you do not
specify a time period to be notified of new mail, you will be notified at all
hours.
To specify the times you want to be notified:
1. Log into Voice Mail. See “Accessing the Voice Mail Service After Set

to reach the Personal Options Menu.
3. Press
to reach the Pager Notification options.
4. Press
to modify your notification time window.
You will be asked to enter the starting time and the ending time for your
time window. For acceptable time of day and day of week entries see
“Voice Mail Time and Dates” on page 48.
