Source/Destination

A source/destination button selects both a source and a destination and optionally performs an
immediate take. The take is an all-level take.

A configuration option (‘Src/Dst Immediate Take’) governs source/destination buttons. When
the option is enabled, source/destination buttons perform an immediate take, without
requiring the operator to press a take button.

When the option is disabled, the button merely selects the source and destination (on all levels).
The operator must then press the take button.

By default, the button shows the source name and the destination name, but the configurer
may assign other text to the button.

Source is Master

During data level (i.e., machine control) takes, this button makes the source device the master.
Otherwise, the destination is the master.

The button is a toggle that reverses the direction of data routing. For example, if the destination
is the master and the source is the slave, pressing a ‘Source is Master’ button reverses their roles.
Pressing the button again reverts the roles.

The ‘Source is Master’ button is used to initiate “broadcast” control routes. See

Broadcast Routes

on page 74.

Pressing the ‘Source is Master’ button turns off the ‘Broadcast’ button and vice versa.

The default button text is “Source Master” but the button can have any legend.

Take

In X-Y mode, a take button routes the preset source device(s) on selected levels to the selected
destination device.

In MD mode, a take button switches the preset source device(s) to the selected destination
device(s) on all levels.

The default button text is “Take” but the button can have any legend.

Undefined

An undefined button cannot be used and appears dark (unlit) on the panel. The term “unde-
fined button” has meaning primarily to the configurer and not the operator.

Toggle Display

The button is a toggle that turns the panel’s display on or off. If the panel was configured in ‘All-
Buttons’ mode

with no display

the button is not available.

‘VFD/Sel Paging Toggle’

The button is toggle. In one state, it reads “Paging LCD Display” [sic] and makes the display
(called either a VFD or an LCD) scroll when the operator presses ‘Page Up’ or ‘Page Down’.

In the other state, it reads “Paging Select Buttons” and makes the items on selection buttons
scroll. These items are levels, in X-Y mode, and MD devices, in MD mode.
