User’s Guide

Destination
Lock

Sets or removes a “lock” on the current destination device. The lock can be
removed only by the user that originally set the lock, or by a panel that has
“Force Release” enabled.

When the panel has its display area enabled, an “L” appears, in MD mode, under
the “L” column (of the “S I L B” buttons) on the rows representing locked destina-
tions
. In X-Y mode, an “L” appears under the “L” column on the rows representing
locked levels.

Destination
Protect

Sets or removes a “protect” on the current destination device. The protect can be
removed only by the user that originally set the protect, or by a panel that has
“Force Release” enabled.

Note: a protect prevents others from routing to a destination; a lock prevents
anyone

even the user who issued the lock

from routing to the destination.

When the panel has its display area enabled, a “P” appears, in MD mode, under
the “L” column (of the “S I L B” buttons) on the representing locked destinations.
In X-Y mode, a “P” appears under the “L” column on the rows representing locked
levels.

Free Source

Defines a phantom device that can be used to release or “free” devices on the
machine control level. A free source is also used with tielines to free the tieline
for others to use. The free source is configured in the Level Set Details page of
NV9000-SE Utilities.

[Forward]

The panel software can introduce a “forward” button if an automatically gener-
ated list has more entries than can fit on a page.

A ‘Forward’ button displays and activates the next button page in an automati-
cally generated sequence.

There is no explicit ‘Forward’ button type; configurers cannot create forward
buttons explicitly.

Global
Navigate

A global navigation button is very much like a navigation button to the operator.
However, during configuration, it selects a previously defined “global naviga-
tion” template. The template itself may have structure that ordinary button
pages have. It can include any button type except additional global navigate
buttons. See

Global Navigation

on page 44.

Hold

Toggles the panel in and out of “hold” mode. In multi-destination mode, hold
mode retains destination selections after a take. In X-Y mode, hold mode retains
breakaway levels after a take. (There are other effects. See

Selection Buttons

on

page 38.)

Information The information button displays auxiliary information about level mapping and

perhaps other matters. The operator presses the information button once to see
the information and again to hide the information.

An information button remains disabled (dark) until there is information to
display. When there is information to display, an asterisk appears in the “I”
column of the panel’s display (when it is turned on). The “I” column is found on
the “S I L B” buttons of the display.
