User’s Guide

There are 3 options for scrolling:

1 Scrolling the display only. The items on the selection buttons do not scroll.

When an operator scrolls the display only, it scrolls by 8 lines at a time.

2 Scrolling the selection buttons only. The items on the display do not scroll.

When an operator scrolls the selection buttons only, they scroll modulo the number of but-
tons. For instance, if there are 9 buttons, they scroll in groups of 9 items.

3 Scrolling both the display and the selection buttons at the same time. This behavior can

occur only when the panel has no ‘VFD/SEL Toggle’ button and the ‘Page VFD Only’ panel
option is not in effect.

When both the display and the selection buttons scroll, they scroll by 8 items, regardless of
the the number of selection buttons.

If the panel has a ‘VFD/Sel Paging Toggle’ button, operators can always switch between options
1 and 2. The button will read either “Paging VFD Display” [sic] or “Paging Select Buttons.”

Selection (of levels or MD devices) is affected by ‘Hold’ mode. (See the

Information

button,

page 29.) The user may toggle hold mode at any time. Using the selection buttons follows hold
mode or normal mode, whichever is in effect at the moment. Normal mode is the default

unless you specify otherwise in the

Panel Options

.

Scrolling

The operator might wish to scroll (or page) through a list of levels (in XY mode) or destinations
(in MD mode). Depending on your configuration, either the display, or the visible selection
buttons, or both can scroll. The operator uses the ‘Page Up’ and ‘Page Down’ buttons to do so.
This is a summary of the options:

Page VFD only.

This is a configurable panel option, where the selection buttons never scroll.

The panel has a ‘VFD/Sel Paging Toggle’ button.

Either the display will scroll or the selection buttons will scroll depending the state of the
‘VFD/SEL Toggle’ button.

The display will scroll in increments of 8 lines. The selection buttons scroll modulo the num-
ber of selection buttons.

Both the display and the selection buttons scroll in increments of 8.

The panel has no ‘VFD/Sel Paging Toggle’ button and was configured without the ‘Page VFD
Only’ option. In this case, the panel should have exactly 8 visible selection buttons. Other-
wise, the selection buttons will show faulty results.

If the panel is configured in ‘All Button’ mode, there is no display, there is no ‘Page VFD Only’
option, and there is no ‘VFD/Sel Paging Toggle’ button type. Scrolling can occur only on selec-
tion buttons.

In ‘Display and Buttons’ mode, if the operator turns off the display, it nevertheless scrolls (or not)
as it would if it were visible. When the operator turns the display on again after scrolling, it reap-
pears correctly.
