3. Select a Scalar and press the OK button to select or deselect the Scalar
video path.
4. For the Input/Scalar you selected using the Delegation button you can
configure these settings:
• Aspect Ratio —Aspect Ratios can be set as 16:9 to 16:9 or Pillarbox (ver-
tical matte boxes on the sides of the video window).
• Background Matte —Insert a matte color to replace black in the
cropped/letter boxed/pillared region.
a. Press the Background Matte button to adjust the colors used on the
edges of the video window.
b. Use the control knobs at the right of the control panel menu to
adjust the Hue, Chroma, and Lum settings shown on the Scalar
menu.
• Crop —Crop the edges to remove/mask any unwanted artifacts that
appear around the edges.
• Set to Default —Sets the default background matte to black, the crop
values to zero, and the aspect ratio as 16:9 to 16:9.
Scalar Configuration
1. From the Config - E-Box menu ( Figure 286 ) press the Scalar button in the
lower right corner.
