Bulk configuring interfaces
You can enter interface range view to bulk configure multiple interfaces with the same feature instead of
configuring them one by one. For example, you can perform the shutdown command in interface range
view to shut down a range of interfaces.
Failure to apply a command on one member interface does not affect the application of the command
on the other member interfaces. If applying a command on one member interface fails, the system
displays an error message and continues with the next member interface.
You can bulk configure interfaces through a port group or interface range:
•
A port group allows only one interface type, Layer 2 Ethernet interface.
•
An interface range allows multiple types of interfaces, including Ethernet interfaces, VLAN
interfaces, and aggregate interfaces.
Configuring a port group
In port group mode, you need to manually create a port group and then assign Layer 2 Ethernet
interfaces to it.
Configuration guidelines
When you bulk configure interfaces in port group view, follow these restrictions and guidelines:
•
Enter ? at the command prompt to display all commands supported by the port group.
•
You cannot view or save the configuration of the port group itself in port group view. You can
execute the display current-configuration or display this command to display current configuration
of a member port in its view.
