System with WBK25 Interface and 3 DaqBook/2000A Devices
Lines and Cables Used in the WBK25 Interface Example [Device Interface Side Only]:
1. Power Supply - To each DaqBook/2000A POWER IN DIN 5 connector, +10 VDC to +30 VDC,
and to the WBK25; typically from a TR40U power adapter.
2. From the bottom DaqBook/2000A’s PARALLEL PORT connector to EXPANSION PORT 1 on the
WBK25 Ethernet Interface Module. A CA-35-2 (2-foot) or CA-35-12 (1-foot) cable is used for this
connection.
3. From either of two SYNC Ports on the bottom DaqBook/2000A to either of two SYNC Ports on the
next DaqBook/2000A. Cable CA-74-1 (1-foot) or CA-74-5 (5-foot) is used for this connection.
4. From the available SYNC Port on the second DaqBook/2000A to either of two SYNC Ports on the
upper DaqBook/2000A. Cable CA-74-1 (1-foot) or CA-74-5 (5-foot) is used for this connection.
5. From the WBK25’s EXPANSION PORT 2 to the second DaqBook/2000A’s Parallel Port.
A CA-35-2 (2-foot) or CA-35-12 (1-foot) cable is used for this connection.
6. From the WBK25’s EXPANSION PORT 3 to the third DaqBook/2000A’s Parallel Port.
A CA-35-2 (2-foot) or CA-35-12 (1-foot) cable is used for this connection.
Reference Note:
The WBK25 Ethernet-to-Parallel Port Interface is shipped with a user’s guide
(p/n 489-0903). Refer to that document for instructions regarding how to connect
a WBK25 to the Ethernet.
Expansion via DBK Modules
This section consists of three system examples, each having a figure and a corresponding list of “cables
used.”
Note that the figures and tables illustrate primary device connections to each other, they do not show signal,
power, Ethernet, or PC connections. These other types of connections are discussed elsewhere in the
document.
In regard to power, note that DaqBook/2000 Series devices can provide 15000 mW of power. This means
that many system configurations will not require additional power modules. However, to avoid the
possibility of inadequate power, you should always check power management tables prior to putting an
acquisition system together.
In regard to physically stacking modules, i.e., attaching one module to another, fastener Panels, sometimes
referred to as “splice plates,” (p/n 262-0801) are typically used. Optional handles (p/n HA-111) may also
be attached to a system.
