PREVENTION OF WATER FREEZING, AND OXIDATION CONDITIONS
1) When the Water-cooled eLOAD is not operating under loaded conditions, please
drain the water from the system to prevent from thermal expansion of water for
temperatures 4°C to below freezing.
2) Still water will corrode and oxidize internal piping over long periods of time.
After use, it is recommended to remove water from the system to prevent
corrosion and oxidation of the internal copper pipes.
Water Drain Method:
a) Upon completion of testing application, adjust power loading on the eLOAD to
30% of Pmax in Constant Current Mode
b) Stop the fluid flow to the eLOAD while unit is still loaded
c) Use front panel temperature reading (UTILITY
ÎDISPLAYÎMETER
MODE
ÎP+T) and wait until the temperature reading is 40 degrees C.
d) Disable and Power off dc input source to the eLOAD
e) With eLOAD input still on, wait 5 seconds and Remove eLOAD from source by
disconnecting leads (this will discharge residual voltage on the eLOAD)
f) Remove inlet and outlet piping into the eLOAD
g) Drain the water inside the eLOAD’s water distribution system by tilting the
eLOAD at a 30 ~ 45 degree angle into a bucket or water sink
h) For best results, use a compressed air gun inserted at the outlet and force air flow
through the system with air exiting at the inlet while the eLOAD is tilted. Make
sure the Water Valve is still conducting (the orange light on the water valve
should illuminate).
i) Now disable the eLOAD input and power off the eLOAD. Disconnect the ac cord
and the eLOAD is ready for relocation, storage or non-usage.
