or: RECORDING FROM A COMPACT Recording is done on the side facing the cassette hoider. 1 Insert a cassette. (D The side to be recorded on 2 Set the FUNCTION switch to CD. To record on the other side, turn the cassette over and press the • REC button again. Usable tapes Use normal (type I) tapes for recording. If you use metal (type IV) or chrome (type II) tapes, sound that has been already recorded may not be erased completely. ' Do not set the FUNCTION switch to POWER OFF/TAPE or RADIO during CD recording. ' You cannot listen to a cassette or the radio during CD recording. ' If the erasure prevention tab is broken off, the • REC button cannot be depressed. ' The output volume and tone have no effect on recording even if they are adjusted. 20
