—9. Open the hood of the lawn tractor. Figure 10
shows the battery box in which the battery
will be mounted.
10. Install the four foam strips into the battery
box as follows.
A. Using a cioth, clean the inside of the bat
tery box with a thinner or solvent.
B. Peel the paper off the foam strips to ex
pose the adhesive backing. Press foam
strips firmly into the corners of the battery
box. See figure 10.

-11. Piace the battery in the rider so that the
positive terminal is facing the left side of the
unit. See figure 11.

Right and left hand sides of the unit
are determined by sitting on the
seat in the operating position,
facing forward.

-12. Secure the battery to the battery box by
stretching the battery strap (G) across the bat
tery. Loop each end around the tab on the
sides of the battery box. See figure 12.
