When you turn on your machine, it is auto

matically set to sew a straight stitch

o Straight Stitch

You can use your basic straight stitch in
many ways besides just sewing a straight

seam. Three common uses for the straight
stitch are;

Pintuck’mg
Quilting
Topstitching

All are discussed in this section.

Raise the needle to its highest position.

Place the edge of the fabric next to a

stitching guide line on the needle plate

Draw the threads towards the back and

lower the presserfoot.

Press the foot control.

Hold the fabric loosely and gently guide it
along the guide line, so that it feeds
naturally.

Do not force the fabric or try to pull it

tight.

8. When you stop sewing, the needle will

automatically rise to its highest position.

9. Raise the presser foot and remove the

fabric,

10. Cut the threads.
