Ion Balance Adjustment Function
The SJ-M Series automatically senses the charged level of the target body using the I.C.C. function to
automatically control the generated amount (balance) of plus and minus ions.
The zero point, the point of reference for the I.C.C. function, is adjusted before the SJ-M Series is
shipped from the factory. However, in some environments, the zero point sometimes drifts. If this
reference zero point drifts, adequate static elimination cannot be maintained. For this reason, you
must re-adjust the zero point using the "Ion Balance Adjustment Function".
■ The Ion Balance Adjustment Flow
The ion balance adjustment of the SJ-M Series is as follows:
Do not switch the power OFF when adjusting the Ion Balance (do not switch
off while the ion balance display lamp is blinking quickly).

1. Ion Balance Adjustment Function
The Ion Balance Adjustment Function allows you to adjust the reference zero point of the I.C.C.
function.
By holding down the
for more than one second in Run Mode, you enter the Ion Balance
Adjustment Function. To return to Run Mode, press the
while in the Ion Balance Adjustment
Function for a short time.
2. Ion Balance Setting
Adjust the ion balance using
while in the Ion Balance Adjustment Function. The LED on the
ion monitor corresponding to the set value lights up.
Pressing
fixes the ion balance. By pressing
, the ion monitor displays the progress bar (all
blinking green).
The unit starts up in the Run Mode after the power is turned ON, or after static
elimination is stopped.
Ion Balance Adjustment cannot be conducted within one minute of the power
being turned ON or after static elimination is stopped.

3. Saving adjustment values
Once the progress bar is complete, the LED for the ALARM/ION LEVEL/COND blinks red or lights up
red. Remove the rubber covering to the lower right controller, then using the dip and rotary switches,
save the ion balance setting values to the main device. Once all the ALARM/ION LEVEL/COND LEDs
light up red, the ion balance adjustment is complete. After setting is complete, replace the rubber
covering back onto the controller.
(1) ALARM LED
Adjust the dip switch positively or negatively in order to change the ALARM LED from blinking red to
solid red.
(2) ION LEVEL LED
Adjust the left rotary switch, changing the ION LEVEL LED from blinking red to solid red.

(3) COND LED
Adjust the right rotary switch, changing the COND LED from blinking red to solid red.
(4) Check that all ALARM/ION LEVEL/COND LEDs are lit up red, then push
for a short time.
Once the display changes to Run Mode, setting is complete.
Setting the dip switch position to 0 will deactivate the Ion Balance Adjustment
Function.
