Receiving Faxes

FAX ONLY mode

(all calls are received as faxes)

Activating the FAX ONLY mode

If the AUTO ANSWER light is off, turn it on by pressing

[AUTOANSWER].

• The display will show the following.

Display:

FAX ONLY MODE

• The unit will automatically answer all calls and only

receive fax document.

• The number of rings before a call is answered can be

changed (p. 56).

Note:

• This mode should not be used with a telephone line

which is used for both voice and fax calls. When the

unit answers the call, fax communication is attempted

with the other fax machine even if someone is trying to
call you.

If you have a telephone line just for receiving faxes, we recommend the

following setup.

Example:

A telephone line is used for voice calls and a separate telephone line for faxes. Therefore, two
telephone lines are used. When someone is sending a fax to the Line 2, the fax machine will ring
following the ring count in the FAX ONLY mode {p. 56).
