Reproducing an Advanced Virtual
Surround Sound (VSS) effect
[Dolby Digital (AC-3) DVD (2 channel or over)]
There are two types of Virtual Surround Sound effects avail
able with this player; VSS (for external speakers) and Head
phone VSS.
•VSS
Use this mode if you only have two front speakers. The
speakers sound further apart and sound can also appear to
come from the left and right of the listening position.
•Headphone VSS
Use this mode when listening through headphones connect
ed to an amplifier or other equipment. Sound appears to
come from front and surround speakers.
Use the On-Screen Menu Icons (for player information) to se
lect the VSS effect (see page 21).
Press VSS during play.
Each time this button is pressed, the player’s FL display
changes:
•In the case of VSS
VSS 1 (Natural effect)
