22 Troubleshooting Welch Allyn Service Engineering
Backing out of the install
If for some reason that you experience the need to revert back the previous version of
software, complete the following steps.
1. Open a Command Tool. See “Obtaining system access” on page 6.
2. Type su and press Return.
3. Enter your root password.
4. At the # prompt, type cd /export/home/acuity/bin and press Return.
5. Type ./restore.sh and press Return.
6. When the operation is complete, the display pauses with the following message
You have to reboot to make the switchover happen.
7. Hold down the control key and press the letter C.
8. The system shows the # prompt again.
9. Type exit and press Return to logout root user.
10. Type exit again to close the Command Tool window.
11. The software restore is now installed and the CPU must be rebooted to take affect.
12. Refer to the procedures in “Completing the Installation” on page 11 for more
information on rebooting the CPU.
Note The process below does not require that you have the original Upgrade CD
installed in the CPU.
Note There is a space after cd.
