5. After a few moments, the system returns to # as the prompt. The file system is now
protected.
6. If more than 5 minutes have passed and the system is still not displaying the #
prompt, refer to the section
“Common problems and solutions” on page 19.
Rebooting the CPU
To reboot the CPU:
1. Type sync and press Return.
2. Type sync and press Return again.
3. Type init 6 and press Return.
4. When the system map re-appears, watch for the date and time to re-appear at the top
of the screen.
5. Watch for the icons to appear at the bottom of the screen (smiling faces, key, etc.)
6. When patients start appearing on the system, ask a clinician to re-confirm their
names, rooms and IDs.
Note After a few brief messages, the system display changes to black. The display
comes back on after a few moments and numerous text messages are shown
while the CPU and operating system are restarting. Eventually the Central Station
application reappears with the system map displayed on screen.
