Errors are displayed during the upgrade
Cannot eject the CD
Problem
•
Error messages are displayed in the Command Tool window during software
installation.
•
The upgrade quits during the installation or displays an error message before
quitting.
•
The system never displays the message “You have to reboot to
make the switchover happen.”
Solution
During software installation, the file system is examined. If the current state is not what
the installation is expecting, errors may result.
•
Refer to the procedures within Appendix A,
•
Contact Welch Allyn Technical Support for additional assistance.
•
Be prepared to send copies of the printed upgrade log file via fax and/or provide
Remote Access to the system.
Problem
System displays a message similar to the following:
/vol/dev/rdsk/c0t1d0/cdrom: Device busy
Solution 1
Typically the is caused by the user working within the cdrom directory. The system will
not allow the media to be ejected when the it is still in use.
•
If you are logged in as root with the # prompt, type exit and press Return.
•
Type cd and press Return.
•
Type eject and press Return.
•
The CRDROM should now eject.
Solution 2
If Solution 1 does not resolve the problem, it may be cause by another process accessing
the cdrom directory and/or its contents.
•
Proceed with the shutdown as normal
•
When the system restarts, observe the start-up messages.
•
After about 20 seconds, press the Eject button on the CDROM drive.
•
The CDROM should manually eject now.
•
If the CDROM will still not eject, contact Welch Allyn Technical Support.
