Clean and disinfect
WARNING Eartips are for single patient use only.
WARNING Use a new eartip for each patient.
External parts of the screener and probe can be cleaned to remove visible particulate
contamination.
CAUTION Do not insert any object into probe.
CAUTION Do not immerse the instrument or probe in fluids or attempt to
sterilize the instrument or any of its accessories.
CAUTION Do not allow any fluid to enter the device.
CAUTION Do not use autoclave sterilization.
CAUTION Do not use alcohol-based disinfectants.
CAUTION Do not put excessive pressure on the clear display window.
CAUTION Do not puncture the display window or control panel.
CAUTION Long-term exposure to disinfecting agents has the potential to
alter the material properties of the plastic housing and labeling of the
device.
CAUTION Always follow the safety and disposal guidelines for cleaning
and disinfectant chemicals provided by the manufacturer.
Note
The probe tube, which does not make direct contact with the patient,
should be replaced if there is any sign of contamination or if the test will
not progress past the AutoStart phase. You do not need to disinfect the
probe tube between patients.
This instrument is not designated as a ‘sterile’ device. Welch Allyn believes low-level
disinfecting is appropriate for this type of instrument. External parts of the screener and
