8.4 Console Device Setup
You can use the SCM from a console device connected to the system or
a modem hookup. As shown in Figure 8–4, local connection is made
from the local port
. You connect remotely from a modem connected
to the modem port .

Note: Both the local port and the modem port are set at:
1 start bit, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity.
Local port defaults: baud rate is 9600, flow control is soft.
Modem port defaults: baud rate is 57600, flow control is hard.
