PC Card Cage Removal: Dell™ Inspiron™ 7000
This procedure assumes that you have removed the
system board
from the plastic case. To remove the PC Card cage, follow these steps:
1. Remove the 4-mm screw securing the audio bezel.
2. Remove the audio bezel.
3. Remove the (4) 18-mm screws securing the PC Card cage to the system board.
Use a support for the system board to prevent the board from flexing when the card cage screws are removed.
4. Gently pull the card cage off of connector UP9 on the system board. Do not rock the cage to remove it, because this may damage the connectors.
Replace the PC Card cage if it is damaged.
