Road types are part of the navigation data
and are taken into consideration when plan‐
ning a route, e.g., avoid highways.
▷
The recommended route may differ from the
route you would take based on personal ex‐
perience.
▷
The settings are stored for the remote con‐
trol currently in use.
Changing the route criteria

"Navigation"

"Map"

"Route preference"
4.
Select the criterion:
▷
"Fast route": time-optimized route, be‐
ing a combination of the shortest possi‐
ble route and the fastest roads.
▷
"Efficient route": optimized combina‐
tion of the fastest and shortest route.
▷
"Short route": short distance, irrespec‐
tive of how fast or slow progress will be.
▷
"Alternative routes": other suggested
alternative routes.
5.
Specify additional criteria for the route, if
necessary:
▷
"Avoid highways": highways are
avoided wherever possible.
▷
"Avoid toll roads": toll roads are avoided
wherever possible.
▷
"Avoid ferries": ferries are avoided
where possible.
Dynamic destination guidance
The route is automatically changed in the event
of traffic obstructions.
▷
The system does not point out traffic ob‐
structions along the original route.
▷
Traffic bulletins continue to be displayed on
the map.
▷
Depending on the type of road and the na‐
ture and length of the traffic obstruction, the
route can also be calculated so that you
travel through the traffic obstruction.
Activating dynamic destination guidance

Route
Different views of the route are available during
destination guidance:
▷
Arrow view in the instrument cluster.
▷
List of streets and towns/cities.
▷ Arrow view in the Head-up Display*, refer to
Arrow view
During destination guidance, the instrument
cluster shows the:
▷
Direction of travel.
▷
Intersection view.
▷
Lane information.
▷
Traffic bulletins.
▷
Distance to next change in direction.
▷
Street name at next change in direction.
Displaying a list of streets or towns/
cities on the route
When destination guidance is started, a list of
the streets and towns/cities on the route is dis‐
played. The driving distances and traffic bulle‐
tins are displayed for each route section.
