Configuring a device/device cluster
The configuration of the devices is password-protected, with the effect that only
the members of the appropriate user groups will be able to transfer
configurations to the devices.
Therefore change to the Machine operator user group if you leave the PC that is
connected to the devices unattended.
Proceed as follows when configuring a device or device cluster:
Edit the configuration draft and transfer it to the connected devices.
After the configuration draft has been transferred, a configuration log is
displayed that you must first approve it before the configuration is enabled on
the devices.
Approve the configuration log.
The configuration draft is verified and is enabled on the devices.
Note
You can transfer the configuration draft to devices or a system configuration only
if your PC is connected to the devices and if you are registered as user in the
appropriate user group of the devices.
Importing/Exporting a configuration draft
The configuration draft of a single device can also be exported and imported to
other projects with devices with the same type code.
Displaying the configuration draft
If you click on Display in the navigation area of the device window, the
configuration draft is displayed.
Verified configuration draft
As soon as a configuration draft has been sent and approved by an authorized
client, it is deemed to be verified.
The following icons indicate whether the configuration draft is verified or not:
