Front Installation:
1. With the vehicle on flat level ground, set the emergency brake &
block the rear tires / wheels. Place a floor jack under the lower
control arm front cross member & raise the front of the vehicle.
Place jack stands under the frame rails, behind the front wheel wells
& lower the frame onto the jack stands.
Note: If the vehicle is
equipped with a front skid plate, remove it at this time. This is in
preparation for Step # 8.
2. Remove the front tires / wheels. (See Photo # 1)
3. Remove the OEM outer tie rod ends from the OEM steering
knuckles.
Note: It may be necessary to strike the side of the OEM
steering knuckles with a hammer to dislodge the OEM outer tie rod
ends. Be careful not to damage the OEM
outer tie rod ends. (See Photo # 2)
4. Disconnect the OEM brake calipers from
the OEM brake rotors & disconnect the
OEM brake lines from the OEM upper
control arms. (See Photo # 3)
Note:
Simply wire the OEM brake calipers out
of the way, it will not be necessary to
disconnect the OEM brake lines from
the OEM brake calipers.
5. Remove the OEM sway bar end links.
6" Lift: Remove the OEM sway bar.
(See Photo # 4) Remove the OEM upper
strut retaining nuts. (See Photo # 5)
6. Disconnect the OEM upper control arms
from the OEM steering knuckles.
Note:
It may be necessary to strike the side of
the OEM steering knuckles with a
hammer to dislodge the OEM upper ball
joints. Be careful not to damage the
OEM upper ball joints. (See Photo # 6)
7.
4Wd Models: Remove the OEM cv-shaft
nuts from the center of the OEM hub
assemblies & disconnect the OEM
cv-shafts from the OEM steering
knuckles. (See Photo # 7)
