Dual Rear Shock Kit

NOTE: CHECK CAREFULLY BEFORE DRILLING ANY HOLES IN THE FRAME. SOME
MODELS MAY REQUIRE REROUTING OF THE FUEL LINE, VENT HOSES, ETC. SOME
VEHICLES MAY REQUIRE THE REMOVAL OF THE MANIFOLD HEAT SHIELDS FOR
CLEARANCE.
Installation:
1. Park the vehicle on flat level ground, set the emergency brake, & block the front tires / wheels.
2. Assemble your new shocks using the bushings & hardware supplied with your shocks. First, insert
the "small" 5/8" I.D. bushings into the upper shock eye. Insert the "large" ¾" I.D. bushings into the
lower shock eye. Insert the new 9/16" shock sleeves into ¾" I.D. lower bushing.
3. Remove the rear shocks. Install the new lower axle brackets in place over the the existing OEM
bracket. To align the new bracket with the OEM bracket, install the 9/16" x 3 ½" bolt through the
new bracket then through the OEM bracket. DO NOT TIGHTEN.
4. Hold the lower bracket against the bottom of the OEM bracket. Align the center strap against the
back of the OEM bracket. Align the pre-drilled 3/8" hole in the center strap of your new bracket
with the back of the OEM bracket. Once the bracket is aligned, mark & drill a 3/8" hole through
the OEM bracket. Bolt the new bracket to the existing OEM bracket using the supplied 3/8" x 1"
bolts.
5. To mount the top of your shocks, center punch & drill a 5/8" hole approximately 24" from the OEM
upper shock mount & down about 1" from the top of the frame rail on the opposite side of the
present mount. Therefore, after completion the shocks will be staggered across from each other
creating a large "V" on both sides.
6. Install the new shocks & tighten all hardware.
7. Check all components for proper clearance. Retorque all hardware after the first 100 miles &
periodically there after.
