Installation

Installation:
1. Park the vehicle on flat level ground, set the emergency brake, & block the front tires / wheels.
2. Raise the rear of the vehicle & place jack stands under the rear frame rails.
3. Measure from a reference point on the rear bottom edge of the wheel well to the center of the top
mount for the OEM shock.
4. Transfer this distance to the front of the wheel well & cut out an opening approximately 2” x 1” in
the bottom of the inner fender shield of the wheel well.
5. Place the new top mount over the frame, aligning it in the center of the opening. It will now
resemble the OEM mount.
6. Weld the top bracket in place, check all wiring, hoses, & lines for proper clearance.
7. Place the shock onto the mount & loosely bolt the bottom mount onto the shock. Extend the
shock until the bottom mount contacts the axle housing. Center this mount opposite the OEM
shock mount & tack weld in place. Remove the shock before completing the weld so that the
shock is not damaged. Repeat these steps on the opposite side.
8. With all shocks installed, check all components for proper clearance. Retorque all hardware after
the first 100 miles & periodically there after.
