Controller functions
All ReNew systems are controlled by MTS's latest precision frame controller.
The controller performs the following functions:
1. Data acquisition for both analog and quadrature inputs
2. Programmable data acquisition rate
3. Digital servo control of frame speed and position
4. Interface between TestWorks software and the frame
5. Detects the activation of limit switches
6. Handset interface
7. Control of frame power
The integration of the controller and TestWorks 4 enables MTS to provide
superior frame control, flexibility in creating your own tests, and an unparalleled
ease in testing.
The ReNew Elite
In upgrading an old material testing system, the existing control electronics are
replaced with the ReNew Elite box and a PC running MTS TestWorks 4 software.
The existing motor is also replaced with a new MTS brushless servomotor that
had been selected for optimum performance with your system.
The ReNew product line is characterized by the size (in Amperes) of the servo
amplifier used within the system, and whether or not the system to be renewed
has a clutch to accommodate systems with multiple drive train ratios. The
ReNew models and capacities are as follows:
