3. Allow the transmission to cool.
4. Place a receptacle under the transmission drain plug (Figure 89, 1).
Remove the drain plug and allow the Universal Tractor Fluid to
drain into the receptacle. Transfer the used oil into a suitable con-
tainer with a cover and label the container as used oil. Dispose of
properly.
5. Clean and re-install the drain plug (Figure 89, 1) into the transmis-
sion housing.
6. Remove the filter (Figure 89, 2) from the filter mount on the front
side of the transmission (3). Dispose of the filter properly. Clean the
mating surface where the filter mounts.
7. Apply a thin film of clean Universal Tractor Fluid to the new filter
gasket. Carefully install a new filter.

8. Remove the dipstick (Figure 89, 4) and fill with Universal Tractor
Fluid approximately 2.6 gallons (9,8 liters). Re-install the dipstick.
9. Check the transmission level and add Universal Tractor Fluid as
required following the procedures outlined in “Transmission Oil
Level Check” on page 135.
10. Reassemble the transmission covers and secure in place with the
six capscrews, washers and lockwashers. Tighten securely.
