Installing Additional Boards

CAUTION

Wear a wrist strap and use a static-dissipating work surface
connected to the chassis when handling components. Ensure
that the metal of the wrist strap contacts your skin.

3. Put on the antistatic wrist strap and place the antistatic mat on a firm

surface near the system. Connect the strap and mat to an unpainted metal
surface on the system chassis.

4. Look at any cables you might have connected to PCI cards. If there is not

enough slack in one or more cables to pull out the satellite chassis,
disconnect the cables as necessary.

5. Pull out the satellite chassis. See Chapter 3 for details.

6. Open and remove the HP NetServer's top cover. See Chapter 3 for details.

Looking down into the satellite chassis, you can see the processor and
terminator boards on the system board.

7. Determine which terminator board (or boards) you will be removing from

your system.

You must remove one terminator board for each 200 MHz/1 MB processor
board you are adding. Refer to Table 6-1 and to Figure 6-4 to determine
which terminator board (or boards) you need to remove from your system.
