Before making any crimp connections, coat the bare wire and base connectors with
anti-oxidant.
•
Use star washers between the lug and the rack ground rail to ensure proper ground contact
and anti-rotation.
To connect the rack to the CBN, connect to one of the following rack ground points. There are two
ground connections at the top of the rack (front and rear) and two ground connections at the bottom
of the rack (front and rear). Site ground can also be connected to the vertical grounding rails in
the front and rear of the rack. Each location is designated with the following ground symbol:

For the seismic rack: Connecting to each of the locations follows the same process:
1.
Using two self-tapping hex-head screws and two M6 star washers (all provided with the rack),
secure the site ground lug (not provided) to the rack.
2.
The proper ground connection stack-up is: rack/M6 star washers/lug/hex-head screws.
3.
Using a 10-mm socket driver, torque the hex-head screws to 40 in-lbs (4.5 N-m).

For the seismic rack R2:
1.
Using the rack's ground studs (shown below for the bottom connection), secure the site ground
lug (not provided) to the rack with the rack's two M6 star washers and two M6 nuts.
2.
The proper ground connection stack-up is: rack/M6 star washers/lug/nut.
