NOTE:

For sites that are not equipped with overhead hoists, installing casters onto the racks is

required to move the racks off the pallets or around the room.

The casters are designed for short-distance moves over a smooth, hard surface or short-pile carpeting.
Using the caster kit items and the rack rail, add four casters to the bottom of the rack frame:

For the seismic rack:
1.

Retrieve the appropriate caster unit (left or right) from the caster kit:

Casters to be installed on the right side as you face the rack have a backing plate that
has a notch in the upper right corner when you hold the backing plate so that the nuts
are on the side facing away from you and the alignment pins are facing toward you.

Casters to be installed on the left side as you face the rack have a backing plate that has
a notch in the upper left corner when you hold the backing plate so that the nuts are on
the side facing away from you and the alignment pins are facing toward you.

2.

Place the backing plate inside the rack such that the nuts are in the side facing the interior of
the rack. The alignment pins will protrude from the hole you used to access the screws that
mounted the rack to the pallet, and the backing plate will be snug against the sheet metal.

3.

From the outside of the rack, position the mounting plate such that the holes closest to the edge
are:

Toward the right side of the rack for casters to be installed on the right side as you face
the rack.

Toward the left side of the rack for casters to be installed on the left side as you face the
rack.

4.

Place the mounting plate snug against the rack so the mounting screw holes line up in the
center of the plates and the alignment pins insert into the holes that are off center.
