Using Windows PowerShell

HP OneView Management Packs use Windows PowerShell, the Microsoft Command Console,
and scripting language to collect discovery and monitoring data from an appliance.

When the EMS is installed, the PowerShell cmdlets are available to get resource information about
the managed appliance. If the modules are not available, the following command can be used to
load the correct PowerShell snap-in:

Add-PSSnapin HPOneView.ManagedDevicesCmdlets

NOTE:

The information in this chapter assumes you are familiar with Windows PowerShell. For

more information, access the Windows PowerShell Owner's Manual at the following website:

IMPORTANT:

You must have Administrator rights to use PowerShell with HP OneView Management Pack.

PowerShell must be running on the system on which the EMS is installed.
