3 Installing NSASJ

This chapter discusses the NonStop Application Server for Java (NSASJ) installation script and its
prerequisites. This chapter also describes the procedures to install, remove, and repair NSASJ.

This chapter primarily discusses the following topics:

“Prerequisites” (page 23)

“Installing NSASJ from the CD” (page 23)

“Creating an NSASJ installation” (page 34)

“Removing an NSASJ configuration” (page 41)

“Repairing an NSASJ installation” (page 41)

Prerequisites

Before installing NSASJ,

Ensure that NSJ 7.0 (with version NonStop Server for Java 7 (T2766H70^ACJ) and for 64-bit
(T2866H70^ACJ)) is installed on your NonStop system. NSASJ uses both 32-bit and 64-bit
NSJ and has a default memory setting of 512 MB. Hence, it is a must to move the QIO segment
to KSEG2. For more information, see Memory Considerations - Moving QIO to KSEG section
in the Installation and Configuration chapter in NonStop Server for Java 7.0 Programmer's
Reference
manual.

The 64-bit transaction support for NSASJ has a dependency on 64-bit version of XARM library
which is available in the latest H06.28 and J06.17 RVU. However for H06.26/J06.15 or
H06.27/J06.16, you can download the library T0791H01^AAB from SCOUT.

Check the library path to make sure 64-bit version of the library is present at the following
location:

Version Procedure

Location

Library file name

T0791V00_07JUL2006_xarm_31Jul2013

/usr/lib

libNonStopXARMy.so

If using JToolkit in applications, make sure the 64-bit version of the library file is present at
the following location:

Library file name

T2716H11_22JAN2014_AAV

/usr/tandem/javaexth11/

Installing NSASJ from the CD

This section describes the procedure to run the IPSetup program and then the NSASJ setup script.

NOTE:

The /usr/tandem/nsasj directory is referred to as the directory

throughout this chapter.

Running the IPSetup program

The NSASJ software is available on the NSASJ product CD. Use the IPSetup program to move the
NSASJ software from the product CD to a NonStop system.

To run the IPSetup program, perform the following steps:
