Example network environment
The following figure illustrates a possible configuration to make use of both the extra portset/subnet
availability and support for VLANs in StoreOnce software version 3.11.0. We shall use this as
the basis for our examples later in this appendix.

The template that is currently in use will be automatically converted to be the current network
configuration as part of the rpm update process. Follow the instructions in the release notes, as
normal. There is no specific user intervention required; the new configuration will exactly match
the old template and be active immediately.
After conversion, the user can modify the configuration to make use of the enhanced networking
features. See next section for examples.
Worked example
In the following example a StoreOnce Backup system that has been configured initially to use
Template 2 (2 x 1GbE management/2 x 10GbE data) has been updated to StoreOnce software
version 3.11.0.
