Event Recipients

Overview

The Web Interface and Control Console both have options that allow
you to define the trap receivers and up to four Email addresses to be
used when an event occurs that has the SNMP traps or Email enabled,
as described in

Event Actions (Web Interface only) on page 47

.

Trap Receivers

The

Trap Receiver

settings allow you to define which of up to four

specific NMSs will be sent traps.

Note:

In the Control Console, these settings are accessed through the

SNMP

option in the

Network

menu.

Community Name

This setting defines the password
(maximum of 15 characters) used when
traps are sent to the

NMS

identified by the

Receiver NMS IP

setting.

Receiver NMS IP

Identifies the NMS that will be sent traps
by its IP address. If this setting is

0.0.0.0

(the default value), traps will not be sent to
any NMS

Trap Generation

Enables (by default) or disables the
sending of any traps to the

NMS

identified

the

Receiver NMS IP

setting.

Authentication Traps

Enables or Disables the sending of
authentication traps to the

NMS

identified
