SS1:

DIP switches S1:4 and S1:5 must be set to the "0" ("off") position.

The setting of the DIP switches is evaluated on application of the 24 V supply and can be checked with
the aid of parameter P749.

A safety output of the protective switching device is connected to a digital input. It is recommended
that a shielded cable is used for this. The shield must be applied on both sides!

A safe shut-down method is connected to a time-delayed safety output of the switching device.

o Safe pulse block: Terminal 89 (24V_SH) and Terminal 88 (GND_SH)
o Switch-off of the 24V supply: Terminal 44 (24V) and Terminal 40 (GND)

It is recommended that a shielded cable is used for this. The shield must be applied on both sides!

The "fast stop" function (P420 [-0x] = 11)must be assigned to the selected digital input x.

For the function SS1, the parameter P426 "fast stop time" and if necessary P559, "DC follow-on time"
must be parameterised according to the requirements of the application. The delay time of the delayed
output of the protective switching device must be rated so that it is longer than the fast stop time plus
the DC follow-on time.

The On/Off switching delay of the digital input must not be used: P475 [-0x] = 0 s!

According to the application, the disabling of the safety function may cause a hazard, so that a
monitored start is necessary. In this case, the automatic start may not be used, P428 = "Off" [0].

7.1 Selection of the safe shut-down method

The following list may be of assistance for the selection of the safe shut-down method:

NOTE

For Size IV:

The 24V connection in Size IV SK 200E, SK 210E, SK 220E and SK 230E devices for the
supply of the control electronics cannot be used as a safe shut-down method, as the high
voltage mains unit which operates in parallel continues to supply the control unit and the
micro-controller.

7.2 Validation

It must be proven by suitable validation that the requirements for the specially intended purpose have been
met.
