(incorrect). Then click the Insert button to add the license plate to the list. Repeat
for each required license plate.
Import: Click the Import... button to browse for the required external list.
For you to be able to import an external list, the following prerequisites must be in
place:
o
The external list must have been saved in a .txt file format.
o
Each license plate must appear on a separate line in the .txt file.
o
There must not be any spaces in registration numbers. Examples: ABC123
(correct), ABC 123 (incorrect).
o
Only capital letters must be used in registration numbers. Examples:
ABC123 (correct), abc123 (incorrect).
Windows' simple text editor Notepad is an excellent tool for creating such .txt files.

4. Save your new settings by clicking the Save button in the Administrator application's
toolbar.
Note that when certain settings have changed, the LPR Server
service must be restarted. To verify whether this is required, look
at the LPR Server service status indicator in the bottom right
corner of the Administrator application.
In case restart is required, click the Restart LPR Server button in the Administrator
application's toolbar.
If you want to add further lists, repeat steps 1-4 for each new list.
Unregistered License Plates
You would normally trigger a surveillance system event based on recognition of license plates
which are included on your lists. However, you can also trigger a surveillance system event when a
license plate which is not on a list is detected.
Example: A private car park uses a list of license plates to grant residents' vehicles access to the
car park. If a vehicle with a license plate which is not on the list approaches the car park, the
analytics solution triggers an output signal which lights a sign telling the driver to obtain a
temporary guest pass from the Security office.
To trigger a surveillance system event if a license plate which is not on a list is detected, use the
Unregistered Plates feature in the Event Mapping Tool (see page 31).
