7.2. Setup System

7.2.1. Sensors for display

The Sensors for display feature lets you choose which sensor’s reading will show up on
the screen during normal operation. You may select any combination of sensors one,
two, and three. (Sensor four is for outside sensor control).

7.2.2. Unit Sensors

The Unit Sensors option describes which sensor, or combination of sensors the
controller uses to operate the controller. Any inside sensor, or any combination of the
three inside sensors is allowed.
The controller will take the temperature given by the sensor, (or average temperature for
the combination of sensors) and operate the power unit as needed to maintain target
temperature.

7.2.3. Auto Kill Fans

Auto Kill Fans is a feature used to stop the fans while the curtains are moving. If you
wish to use this feature, use the Select Feature up arrow key to select Auto Kill Fans.
Push the "Change Setting" up arrow key to select yes. As the curtains begin to move, the
fans will disengage. This will prevent the curtains from damage by being sucked into the
sides of the building while opening, or closing. The fans will resume operation when the
curtains stop moving. If you select "no" for Auto kill fans, the fans will continue
operating as the curtains are being raised or lowered. The Variable Speed Fan stage will
continue to run until the curtain drops below the initial drop setting.

7.2.4. Power Unit ON/OFF

This setting is used as it’s name implies. Answer “Off” to the prompt (using the change
setting down arrow key) to disable the PowerTrak. Press Select Feature to move to the
next feature.

7.2.5. Set Trend Index

Trend Index is a term Hired-Hand uses for a feature in the System 1000 Power Curtain
Controller. The term Trend Index refers to a factor used in an extremely complex
mathematical scheme. This mathematical scheme is used to spot trends in temperature
changes over time, and respond more rapidly to sudden changes in these trends.
The trend index has a setpoint from .1 to .5 in increments of .1.
As the value increases, the controller takes more aggressive action to anticipate and
correct for changes in trends.
As the controller operates it checks temperature every two minutes. It compares the
temperature to target temperature and will move the curtain machine a set amount for
each degree away from target temperature.

7.2.6. Initial Drop Delay

The machine always stops at the initial drop position whether it is going up or down.
This option lets you set the amount of time the curtain stays there until it moves again.
Normally, the curtain will adjust itself up or down once every two minutes. The Initial
Drop Delay allows you to force the controller to wait for up to 4 cycles (eight) minutes
before the curtain moves again. The number is adjustable from zero to four cycles.
If the Initial Drop Delay is set for three, the controller will wait three cycles (six
minutes) before moving again, regardless of inside temperature.

7.3. Variable Speed

This feature allows the operator to set up one fan circuit with variable speed capability.
(up to a total of ten amps). With this feature activated, the controller will vary the speed
