14. Maintenance

There are few items on the System 1000™ which require maintenance. This does not mean that
maintenance is not important. Check the calibration of your sensors at least once every two months.

15. Troubleshooting

Warning!

WARNING! Electric Shock Hazard. These tests must only be run by a

Qualified Technician.

15.1. Curtain machine does not operate Manually.

0 Make sure that the PVR-H is getting voltage. Put meter leads across the AC input labeled BLACK and

WHITE. This should read 110vac or 240VAC depending on model.

1 Check fuse at PVR-H. Fuse should be a 10 Amp.
2 Check curtain machine and make sure that the cam block is not on the limit switches.
3 Check fuse on the circuit board inside the controller (F1) and make sure that you are reading 12VDC on

both sides of this fuse. Fuse should be a 2 amp mini fuse. Note the black lead of your volt meter should be
on the terminal labeled SENSOR,BLACK\SHEILD whenever measuring DC voltages.

4 Checking at the System 1000™ board on the Primary Unit the RED should always have 12 volts DC. If

you read 12VDC at this terminal, check the terminal labeled WHITE. When the manual switch is off you
should have 12VDC. When the manual switch is in the 'open' or 'close' position, you should read less then
2.5VDC. Now check the terminal labeled BLACK. When the manual switch is in open you should have
12VDC on the terminal labeled BLACK. When the switch is in the closed position you should have less
then 2.5VDC. The secondary unit will not operate in the manual position.

5 If voltages are not correct you need to check and make sure that the 3 conductor cable that connects from

controller to PVR-H does not have a short. Disconnect power from the System-1000™ and PVR-H. Then
disconnect 3 conductor cable from the PVR-H and System 1000™ making sure that the ends of the wires
are not touching each other and then measure for a short.

6 Disconnect power from PVR-H and remove 9-conductor cable and check the PowerTrak unit. Refer to the

PowerTrak manual for trouble shooting.

15.2. Curtain machine does not operate Automatically

8. Check to see if the unit will operate manually, if not repeat steps 1-7.
9. Check your program settings to make sure they are correct.
10. Check to make sure that your sensor readings are correct.

15.3. Temperature Sensors not reading correctly

11. If the temperature sensor reads -19.9 degrees, the cable is broken or disconnected from controller.
0 If temperature sensor is reading 130 degrees then the cable or sensor is shorted.
1 Check the sensor with an ohm meter. Remove sensor from controller and measure resistance across the

sensor. Refer to the resistance chart.

2 If sensor is only off 1 to 5 degrees then it probably needs calibrating.
3 If sensor is erratic you need to disconnect sensor cable and replace it with a sensor with short leads at the

controller. If the sensor is still erratic the problem is in the System-1000™ board.
