11. Keypad Security
11.1. Locking the Keypad
The keypad on the System 1000 Power Curtain Controller may be locked to prevent
accidental tampering with the intended program. To lock the keypad, press and hold the
Change Setting up and down buttons simultaneously. The word "locking" will appear in
the lower line of the controllers display. Keep holding the buttons until that word
changes to the word "locked", then release. This should take from five to ten seconds.
From this point until the controller is unlocked, the controller will continue to function,
but will not react to keypad commands.
11.2. Unlocking the Keypad
To unlock the keypad, press the "Change Setting" up and down arrow keys together
until the word "unlocked" appears in the bottom line of the controllers display. This
should take about five to ten seconds. Now the controller will react to keypad
commands.
11.3. Hiding Features
The controller will allow you to "hide" selected features at will. When a feature is
hidden, the feature will continue to operate, but it will not show up when scrolling
through the features with the select feature arrow keys. In a sense, it is like locking
individual features. Any feature can be hidden or shown again. We recommend hiding
features that will not change from day to day, such as ratios, timer period, timer setup,
etc., because this will prevent accidental alteration of system settings.
To hide features, press Select Feature up, then press Manual Close. This will put you
into hide features mode. The top line of the display will show the name of the feature,
and the bottom line will say "Hide this Feature NO". Use the Change Setting up arrow
to answer yes, then press Select Feature to move to the next feature. Go through all the
features answering yes or no, until you have selected all the features you wish to hide.
then press Manual Close again to leave hide features mode.
