1. Welcome
Hired Hand has taken every effort to launch the agricultural industry into the 21st century. Our
latest effort is the System 1000 Power Curtain Eight Stage Controller. This versatile controller
offers many of the features found in much more expensive controllers, while maintaining its
entry level price. These features include:
ë 8 stages of heat and cooling--plus one variable speed fan stage. (Second variable
speed stage optional.)
ë Automatic daily temperature reduction (ramping).
ë Automatic tunnel ventilation control.
ë Pullet curtain light control with night vent option.
This controller is complex and powerful, but easy to operate on a day to day basis. It is very
important to read and understand this manual prior to installing, programming, or operating the
System 1000 Power Curtain Controller.

120 or 240 volts / 6 Amps Maximum / 50/60 hertz (depending on model purchased).
•
8 stages of heating or cooling plus integrated curtain machine operation.
•
1 -- 8 Amp variable speed fan circuit standard. (Optional 2 nd variable speed stage.)

Warning!
When this controller is used in a life support heating and ventilation system
where failure could result in loss or injury, the user should provide adequate
back-up, or accept the risk of such loss or injury!

Wiring and connections must comply with all national and local electrical
codes. Installation by qualified electrician required!
Warning!
Electrical shock may occur if the enclosure is opened with power connected
to the unit. Before opening the enclosure, make sure that all power sources
to controller are disconnected!

Do not change stage programs with power applied to the controller!
