Using the Setup Menu––continued
)Note: Learning Setup menu functions is not necessary. These
functions are provided for users who want to explore the advanced
capabilities of the printer. During normal printing, application programs
control most Setup menu functions automatically.
Before describing the parameters on the Setup menu, let's review how to
display, scroll through, and change settings on the Setup menu:
With the status message displayed, press the
Setup button; the Setup menu appears.
Turn the Select-dial until the parameter you
want to change appears.
While holding down the Alt button, turn the
Select-dial to view the possible settings for the
parameter. When the setting you want to
select appears, release the Alt button. The
printer beeps to confirm the setting change.
Turn the Select-dial to display another param-
eter or press the Setup button to redisplay the
status message.
Now that you know how to use the Setup menu, it is time to learn what
each parameter does and the possible settings you can select. Param-
eters are described in the order they appear in the Setup menu.
