Enabling the Computer Interface
The IRM-5000P can be connected to a PC via its RS-232C (serial) computer interface port. The
RS-232C port is controlled by the main microprocessor board and is optically isolated from the
high-voltage generator board. A Windows-based software package is provided with the IRM-
5000P that can be used to retrieve test records from the IRM-5000P. In order to use the
software with the IRM-5000P, you must first connect the unit to the PC via the RS-232C port
and then enable its computer interface. Follow the steps below to enable the computer
interface:
a. Start from the “START-UP” menu:
Press the

key (UTILITIES).
b. The following screen will be displayed:
Press the
[3]
key (SETUP).
c. The following screen will be displayed:
Press the
[3]
key (COMP INT).
d. The computer interface will be enabled and the following screen will be displayed:
You can now use the provided software to retrieve test records from the IRM-5000P.
Please refer to the IRM-5000P Software User’s Manual for further instructions.
Press the
[STOP]
key to disable the computer interface and return the IRM-5000P to
stand-alone mode. You will be returned to the “START-UP” menu.
