1. CONCENTRIC VENTING THROUGH AN EXISTING SYSTEM
NOTE:
The following instructions refer only to venting through an existing vent system, and not to venting with HTP’s concentric vent
kits (2” Part # KGVAT0501CVT, 3" Part # KGAVT0601CVT). Refer to Concentric Vent Kit installation manual (Part # LP-166) for further
concentric venting information and instructions.
Concentric venting through an existing system must run vertically through the roof. See Table 16 for proper minimum vent sizing. Use
only the approved venting materials specified in Table 11 for piping the system. All instructions listed in Part 5 - Venting, Sections A
– G
apply. See Figures 18-1 and 18-2 for venting demonstrations.
The upper and lower vent terminations as well as all joints in the venting system must be properly sealed to ensure that all combustion
air is drawn properly and exhaust does not leak from the system. Failure to properly seal the venting system will result in property
damage, severe personal injury, or death.
NOTES:
A. For every 1” of
overhang, the exhaust
vent must be located 1”
vertical below overhang
(overhang means top of
building structure and
not two adjacent walls
[corner of building]).
B. Typical installations
require 12” minimum
separation between
bottom of exhaust outlet
and top of air intake.
C. Maintain 12”
minimum clearance
above highest
anticipated snow level
or grade (whichever is
greater).
D. Minimum 12”
between vents when
installing multiple vents.
E.
12” minimum beyond
air intake.
F. Maintain 12”
minimum clearance
above highest
anticipated snow level
or grade (whichever is
greater).

If an existing venting system is converted for use with this boiler, the installer must ensure that the existing venting system is clean and
free from particulate contamination that could damage the boiler. Failure to do so could result in property damage and boiler failure.
Such failure IS NOT covered under warranty.
