5.5 trace
5.5.1 Syntax
dhcpclient trace
5.5.2 Description
This command enables or disables tracing for the DHCP client. If no arguments are
given the command lists the current tracing options enabled.
The following trace options are available:
Option
Description
lease
Report changes in lease status (any interface)
bootp
Report changes in lease status (any interface)
error
Report all errors (fatal events)
Warn
Report “warn” level events (important events)
Note
Report “note” level events (minor/frequent events)
All
All trace options
Tracing options are disabled by using the untrace command with the option names
to be disabled.
Saving configuration does not preserve the current tracing options that are enabled.
By default tracing of error, warn and note are enabled.
5.5.3 Example
