Examine bottom of frame rails of vehicle. To allow the hitch to sit flat, any weld spatter must be removed from frame rails.
Remove all but a thin film of undercoating from attaching surfaces.
2.
Drop 1/2 bolt with 1/4 X 1-1/2 X 2 block down thru slot at end of frame rail. It may be necessary to hold block with one hand
and bolt with other hand to work bolt down thru block and slot. Turning bolt may help.
3.
Raise hitch into position and install conical washer and nut at rear attachment point.
4.
Using hitch as a template, drill two holes in frame for forward attachment
5.
Fish wire 1/2 Carriage bolt with 1/4 X 1-1/2 X 2 block thru body mount access hole into drilled hole.
6.
Install tapered block between frame and hitch side brackets on forward attachment points as shown.
7.
Install remaining conical washers and hex nuts.

Tighten all 1/2 fasteners with torque wrench to 75 Lb.-Ft. (102 N*M)
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to
prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working
beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch.

and SAE J684.
